Hotel dusk room 215 wallpaper11/28/2023 The noir mode of the story that the visuals highlight is complemented by the collection of moody tunes. But before I move on to the meat of the game, let me briefly mention another factor in the atmosphere setting of the game. The journey here is in the story and the characters that fill it. But again, this isn’t something that brings the game down because you shouldn’t be expecting any adventuring in this puzzle/mystery game set in one place. Not all rooms will be available in the beginning but the game unlocks new areas for you to visit and investigate in right doses but even then, you’ll be finding yourself going back and forth through the same rooms anyway. The entire game takes place inside the hotel and though you may be exploring the entire place, you’ll see that there’s not much to each room. If you’re looking for variety in locales, then YOU’RE DOING IT WRONG. The characters are never just static images as the lines are stirring with energy even when the characters are stationary, making them feel alive. This hand-drawn style in itself isn’t particularly amazing but the game breathes life into it by actually having these pencil sketches of the characters move. The characters also appear to be cut straight out of the paper they were drawn on, contrasting with the faded backgrounds. The characters are drawn as simple pencil sketches with gray shading (with minimal color thrown in during key scenes as a great way of highlighting the characters and their emotions), the details never overbearing with each careful line, fold, and crease. Lemme start off by saying that the art concept for the game is perfect for the mood it creates. Thus begins the game of Hotel Dusk: Room 215. As luck or fate would have it, Kyle gets the keys to Room 215, the aptly named Wish room. And in this hotel lies a room where stories have come out saying anyone who stays in that very room will have all his/her wishes granted. His journey finally leads him to a lonely hotel in the middle of nowhere filled with secrets and possibly answers to all his questions – Hotel Dusk. He continues his search while sidelining in “finding things” for his Red Crown boss, Ed Vincent. His detective instincts keep telling him Bradley is alive and keep him going on. ![]() Kyle quit the force but that hasn’t stopped his search for Bradley and for the truth behind his best friend’s sudden betrayal and disappearance. Wouldn't have a game in our hands if Bradley actually answered that!īefore falling into the murky waters of the Hudson, Bradley managed to (st)utter one word – “M-Mila…” His body was never found, the case was never finished, and the crime syndicate Nile was never brought to justice, leaving our protagonist with more questions and doubts.
